  3. Truth! The Atacama Desert in Chile is known for its extreme dryness, with some areas receiving virtually no rainfall at all.

  1. Truth! Deserts are defined by their low precipitation, receiving less than 10 inches (25 centimeters) of rain per year.
  2. Lie! The Gobi Desert is actually located in Asia, spanning parts of northern China and southern Mongolia.
